Flight compensation handling

The product
Flying can be stressful, especially when things go wrong. When flights are delayed or canceled, airline staff need to quickly and smoothly issue compensation for transportation, hotels, meals, and financial reimbursements.
That`s where Caasco comes in, a platform designed to help airlines handle passenger compensation faster and more efficiently.

The role
I was hired as the first product designer, working directly with the founders to evaluate the existing process, conduct user research, and design the core product.
Research revealed that issuing compensation for a canceled flight, including vouchers for hotels, food, transport, and financial payouts, took staff an average of 15 minutes per passenger, adding up to many hours per flight. This is exhausting for employees and frustrating for passengers.
With the web app I designed, we reduced that process to under 2 minutes per passenger, from initial input to email confirmation, dramatically improving both employee workflows and passenger experience.
The project included: A web app for airline staff to issue and manage compensation.
A passenger-facing app to receive, manage, and use vouchers.
A retail, hotel, and transportation app to easily validate and process vouchers.
An internal admin tool for Caasco staff to onboard and manage airline clients.
Unfortunately, the project was paused in 2020 due to the pandemic, but it was a valuable experience in designing for speed, clarity, and operational efficiency under high-pressure conditions.
